The controversial Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev is hiding his luxury yacht Universe in Istanbul. It was moved to the Turkish port from the Russian city of Sochi. This may indicate that the Russian authorities no longer consider the port of Sochi to be safe.
This is stated in an investigation by fugitive Russian journalist Gleb Pyanykh, who is in Turkey. According to him, the ship entered the Turkish port a week before the strikes on the Crimean bridge and Russia’s withdrawal from the grain deal.
“Apparently, Medvedev knew something… This yacht was seen in Sochi last year (2022 – Ed.) in autumn. Before the war in Ukraine started, this yacht was in Italy, and as soon as the war started, it was urgently moved first to Istanbul and then to Sochi,” Pyanykh said
According to him, the current urgent move of the ship to Turkey may be evidence of the fear of Russian elites for their property in the Black Sea. At the same time, the journalist noted that Universe in Istanbul is moored in a secluded bay known only to locals. All other yachts in this bay are much smaller and cheaper.
Formally, the yacht is registered to an offshore company. The real owner of this offshore company is unknown. However, according to media reports, it is the family of former Russian Energy Minister Igor Yusufov. And Yusufov’s son was on holiday with Medvedev’s son Ilya on this yacht.
The yacht is 74 m long and was built in 2018. Its cost is estimated at $100 million. The vessel can accommodate 12 people in six cabins. It also provides for 19 staff members.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, the other day, after the explosions in Moscow, Medvedev began to threaten Ukraine again. In his traditional manner, the Ukrainophobe started talking about nuclear weapons.
